THE ESSENTIALS
Editing is about more than checking commas and syntax. It’s about making sure you’re communicating clearly and effectively. No matter where you are in the process of developing your voice as a writer—whether you’re a pro looking for simple feedback on your highly-polished novel or a novice needing help with the basics—I’ll meet you where you’re at.
Do you want me to have a light touch with the editorial pen? Do you want to be challenged to grow? Let me know what you want out of the editing process and I’ll work with your personal goals in mind.
GENRES
I provide feedback on a wide variety of genres including fiction, fantasy, romance, poetry, memoirs, and children’s stories. I’ll tackle articles, academic papers, personal and professional correspondence, and résumés too. If you’re not sure if your writing fits into my editorial wheelhouse, please contact me and ask.
TIERS & PRICING
I offer different levels of assistance to suit your editorial needs:
- Consultation & Project Management ($20 per hour) — project tracking and accountability for works-in-progress. I’ll listen, motivate, and help to keep you on track while you write towards your goal.
- General Review ($0.015 per word; $75 minimum) — a straightforward reading of your work. I’ll provide simple feedback covering the broad strokes of the composition and offer suggestions for overall strengthening and improvement.
- Line Editing ($0.02 per word; $100 minimum) — encompasses the previous tier along with editing for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Content Editing ($0.03 per word; $150 minimum) — covers the previous two tiers and includes a more in-depth discussion about how well the writing works for its intended readership. For narrative writing, this includes character development, motivation, scene development, pacing, and the internal logic of the story.

INCLUSIVITY
My services are friendly to people of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disability, members of religious (and non-religious) minority communities, and secondary-language English speakers. If you’re a member of a marginalized community and can’t afford editorial assistance, please contact me to discuss special rates for your project.
